1. Who we are
HelloKha is a free English-learning service for Thai speakers, published by Paynetco (Stéphane Capelli). This page explains what data we use and why.
2. Data we collect
Account: your email address, your nickname, and your password, which we never store in clear text (it is turned into an irreversible hash).
Sign in with Google: if you choose it, Google sends us your email address, your name and a Google identifier. We never receive your Google password.
Progress: the words you have practiced and how well you know them, plus your settings (level and voice speed), so you can find them on all your devices.
Contact messages: the text you send us and, if you give it, your email.
Technical data: your IP address, used only to limit abuse. It is erased within 24 hours for login attempts, and kept with a contact message if you send one.
3. What we use it for
To create and secure your account, save your progress, send essential emails (forgotten password) and answer your messages. We do not sell any data, show no ads and use no advertising trackers.
4. Google user data
The use and transfer of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We only request your email, name and identifier to sign you in. This information is used for nothing else and is neither shared nor sold.
5. Cookies and local storage
A session cookie keeps you signed in, remembers your language and protects forms. Your browser also keeps your progress and settings (local storage). No advertising cookies.
Fonts: the pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google, as with any third-party hosted resource.
6. Sharing
We share your data with no one, except where required by law, apart from Google Fonts and the Google sign-in if you choose to use it. The site runs on a server managed by Paynetco, and emails are sent from that server.
7. Retention
Your data stays as long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time from the My account page: your account and progress are then erased. Contact messages already sent are not erased automatically; ask us through the Contact page.
8. Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, or object to its use, through the Contact page. You may also have rights under the data protection law of your country, such as the PDPA in Thailand.
9. Children
The service is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you believe a younger child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Contact
For any question, use the Contact page of the site.
