Study guide
HelloKha helps you speak real-life English from zero. You do not need to read English: every word has a sound, a Thai-letter pronunciation and a Thai meaning. Right now there are 3,851 words, 2,465 phrases and 79 themes.
The method: 4 steps (10–15 minutes a day)
1. Listen
Tap a word or phrase to hear it. Use the turtle 🐢 for slow speech. Listen as many times as you like.
2. Repeat
Read the Thai-letter pronunciation and say it out loud. Then try the “Speak” tab 🎤 and let the app check you.
3. Remember and review
Tick ✓ the words you know. The app counts your level and reminds you every day to review words you may forget (“Review today”).
4. Use it
Play the dialogues and take the quizzes. Choose the right reply for each situation, then use it with customers and foreign friends.
How to read a word card
Each word has 3 lines: English (large) · pronunciation in Thai letters (pink) · Thai meaning. If you cannot read English yet, turn on the ก button (Beginner mode): the app puts the Thai pronunciation first.
The buttons at the top of the app

- Keep the slow voice 🐢 on, and turn it off when your ear is used to it.
Good to know
- Thai-letter pronunciation is only a helper. Some English sounds do not exist in Thai, so always listen to the real sound too.
- Speech checking uses your browser. It can mishear you and it is not a pronunciation exam.
- Your progress is saved on your device. If you create an account it syncs to all your devices.
- You can turn on e-mail reminders in “My account”. One e-mail a day, only on days you have not studied, with an unsubscribe link in every message.
